Where is the starter located in a 2003 Cadillac cts?

The starter in a 2003 Cadillac CTS is located on the passenger side of the engine, towards the bottom. It's fairly difficult to access and usually requires some removal of components (possibly the exhaust manifold heat shield or even part of the exhaust system) to get to it for replacement.
