Tools You'll Need:

Procedure:
1. Disconnect the Battery (Optional but Recommended): This prevents accidental short circuits.
2. Window Down: Lower the passenger window completely. This will provide more access and prevent accidental damage to the window mechanism.
3. Remove the Door Handle Bezel: There are usually small screws securing the door handle bezel (the plastic piece around the door handle). Unscrew these. The bezel might just pop off after the screws are removed; gently pry if needed.
4. Remove the Door Pull Switch: The power window switch and possibly the door lock switch are usually held in place with clips or small screws. Carefully remove these. Note their placement for reassembly.
5. Detach the Armrest: The armrest is usually held on by several clips. Start at the edges and gently pry it loose with your plastic tools. Work your way around until it’s free.
6. Remove the Door Panel: This is where things get delicate. Begin at the bottom edge of the door panel and carefully insert a plastic pry tool between the panel and the door. Gently work your way around the perimeter, releasing the many plastic clips. The clips are fragile; excessive force can break them. If you feel resistance, stop and try a different location. Sometimes a little bit of gentle rocking will dislodge stubborn clips. If you are using a screwdriver, be extremely careful and use a soft cloth to avoid marring the paint.
7. Disconnect the Door Panel Wiring Harness: Once the clips are released, the door panel should be loose. Locate the electrical connector for the door switches and carefully unplug it.
Reassembly:
Reassembly is the reverse of the removal process. Make sure all the clips are properly seated before you fully secure the panel. If you broke any clips, you'll need replacements. These can often be found at auto parts stores.
Important Considerations:
* Patience is key: This process takes time and patience. Rushing can lead to broken clips and damage.
* Take pictures: Before you begin, take pictures of how everything is connected. This will be invaluable during reassembly.
