How many different key models are there for most cars?

Most cars have only one key model, but some higher-end and luxury vehicles may have up to three different key models. The most common key models are:

* Standard key: This is the most basic type of key and is typically made of metal. It has a series of ridges on the blade that correspond to the pins in the lock cylinder.

* Laser-cut key: This type of key is more difficult to duplicate than a standard key because it has a unique pattern of cuts along the blade.

* Transponder key: This type of key contains a chip that transmits a code to the immobilizer in the car. The car will not start if the code from the key does not match the code programmed into the module.
