Why did Henry Ford paint his Model T cars black?

Henry Ford did not paint his cars black. In fact, from 1908 until 1913 you could get any colour Model T you wanted so long as it was black. He did not offer customers a choice in exterior colours because black paint cost less thanks to the addition of carbon, black was the most durable colour, it dried faster and it sold better.
