1. Make sure the vehicle is parked in a safe location with the parking brake engaged.
2. Locate the convertible top release button. On the 450SL, it is usually located on the center console near the gearshift.
3. Press and hold the release button. The convertible top will start to lower.
4. Continue to hold the release button until the top is completely lowered.
5. Once the top is lowered, it will automatically latch into place.
To raise the convertible top, simply repeat these steps in reverse order.
