#1 piston at TDC (Top Dead Center):
- The "T" mark on the flywheel should be aligned with the index mark on the engine case.
- The camshaft sprocket mark should be pointing straight up
- The #2 valves should be slightly loose. That means the feeler gauge should not fit on the exhaust and it would be snug on the intake.
#2 piston at TDC:
- The "A" mark on the flywheel should be aligned with the index mark on the engine case.
- The #1 valves should be slightly loose. That means the feeler gauge should not fit on the exhaust and it would be snug on the intake.
- The camshaft sprocket mark should be pointing at the two o'clock position.
