Park the vehicle in a safe location, turn off the engine, and allow it to cool down.
Disconnect the battery. This will prevent any electrical accidents from occurring while you are working on the sensor.
Locate the cam position sensor. On the Porsche Boxster, it is situated on the left side of the engine, near the top of the cylinder head.
Remove the electrical connector from the sensor by pressing down on the locking tab and pulling it off.
Unbolt the sensor from the engine using a suitable wrench or socket.
Remove the old sensor and replace it with the new one, making sure to tighten the bolt securely.
Reconnect the electrical connector to the sensor.
Reconnect the battery.
Start the engine and check for any error codes or warning lights. If everything is functioning properly, the sensor replacement is complete.
