- The heated coolant carries this absorbed thermal energy to the radiator.

2. Heat Transfer:

- Once the heated coolant reaches the radiator, it enters a series of tubes called radiator tubes. These tubes are surrounded by metal fins, which increase the surface area for efficient heat transfer.

- The radiator's design maximizes contact between the hot coolant and the surrounding air. As the coolant flows through the radiator tubes, the fins facilitate the dissipation of heat into the ambient air.

3. Airflow:

5. Pressure Cap:

- To prevent the coolant from boiling due to the high pressure and temperatures involved in the cooling system, a pressure cap is fitted to the radiator.

- The pressure cap maintains a higher pressure within the system, raising the boiling point of the coolant and preventing boiling and vapor lock.

6. Overflow Tank:

- There's usually an overflow tank connected to the radiator. When the coolant expands due to heat, the excess coolant is diverted to this tank. When the engine cools down, the coolant is drawn back into the radiator.
