Where would the VIN number be on a 1946 Ford car?

The VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) was not used on Ford vehicles until the 1954 model year. Cars built before 1954 had a serial number, which was stamped on various parts of the car, such as the engine, firewall, and frame. The serial number on a 1946 Ford car can be found on the top of the left front frame member, under the brake master cylinder.
