1. Remove the valve cover.
2. Turn the crankshaft until the timing mark on the flywheel aligns with the pointer on the timing belt cover.
3. Remove the camshaft sensor.
4. Clean the camshaft sensor and its mating surface.
5. Inspect the camshaft sensor for damage. If the sensor is damaged, replace it.
6. Install the camshaft sensor.
7. Torque the camshaft sensor to 18 ft-lb.
8. Reconnect the camshaft sensor connector.
9. Install the valve cover.
After you have installed the camshaft sensor, you will need to use a scan tool to clear any trouble codes that may have been set. You may also need to adjust the ignition timing.
