How do you take the factory stereo out of a 1997 Jeep Wrangler?

To remove the factory stereo from a 1997 Jeep Wrangler, you will need the following tools:

- A Phillips head screwdriver

- A flat head screwdriver

- A pair of pliers

- A wire stripper

- Electrical tape

Instructions:

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. This will prevent any electrical shock while you are working on the stereo.

2. Remove the four Phillips head screws that hold the stereo in place.

3. Pull the stereo out from the dashboard. Be careful not to damage any of the wiring.

4. Disconnect the wiring harness from the back of the stereo. Use the pliers to squeeze the release tabs on the connectors and then pull them apart.

5. Use the wire stripper to strip the ends of the wires.

6. Connect the wires from the new stereo to the appropriate wires on the wiring harness. Use electrical tape to insulate the connections.

7. Slide the new stereo into the dashboard and secure it with the four Phillips head screws.

8. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.

The new stereo should now be working.
