1. Park your car in a safe location and turn off the engine.
2. Locate the temperature switch, which is usually a small, cylindrical-shaped sensor located on the engine block near the thermostat.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the temperature switch.
4. Use a wrench to loosen and remove the temperature switch.
5. Apply a small amount of sealant to the threads of the new temperature switch.
6. Screw in the new temperature switch and tighten it securely.
7. Reconnect the electrical connector to the temperature switch.
