Tools:
• A Phillips-head screwdriver
• A flat-head screwdriver
• A ratchet or wrench
• A socket set
• A safety glasses
Materials:
• Replacement brake light bulb
• Replacement brake light housing (if necessary)
Instructions:
1. Open the trunk of your Hyundai Sonata.
2. Locate the brake light assembly in the rear window.
3. Use the Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screws that hold the brake light assembly in place.
4. Carefully remove the brake light assembly from the rear window.
5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the brake light assembly.
6. Inspect the brake light bulb. If the bulb is burned out, replace it with a new bulb of the same type.
7. If the brake light housing is damaged, replace it with a new housing.
8. Reattach the electrical connector to the brake light assembly.
9. Carefully reposition the brake light assembly in the rear window.
10. Secure the brake light assembly with the Phillips-head screws.
11. Close the trunk of your Hyundai Sonata.
12. Test the brake lights to ensure that they are working properly.
Once you have completed these steps, the brake light will be properly replaced in your 2008 Hyundai Sonata.
