1. Disconnect the battery.
- This will prevent any electrical accidents from happening while you are working on the car.
2. Locate the cam position sensor.
- The cam position sensor is located on the back of the engine, near the top of the cylinder head. It is a small, black sensor with two wires attached to it.
3. Remove the old cam position sensor.
- To remove the old cam position sensor, simply use a wrench to loosen the two bolts that hold it in place. Once the bolts are loose, you can pull the sensor out of its socket.
4. Inspect the cam position sensor.
- Before you install the new cam position sensor, take a moment to inspect the old one. Make sure that there are no cracks or damage to the sensor, and that the wires are in good condition.
5. Install the new cam position sensor.
- To install the new cam position sensor, simply insert it into the socket and tighten the two bolts that hold it in place. Make sure that the sensor is seated properly in the socket, and that the wires are not pinched.
6. Reconnect the battery.
- Once the new cam position sensor is installed, you can reconnect the battery. Start the car and let it run for a few minutes to make sure that the sensor is working properly.
