How do you change brake light 2004 Jeep Liberty?

Tools and Materials Needed

* Replacement brake light bulb

* Phillips head screwdriver

* Flat head screwdriver

* Socket wrench set

* Jack and jack stands

* Safety glasses

Instructions:

1. Park your Jeep Liberty in a safe location, and turn off the engine. Engage the parking brake and turn on the hazard lights.

2. Locate the brake light that needs to be replaced. It is important to replace both brake light bulbs if needed, to make sure that they both work properly.

3. Open the hood of the Jeep Liberty and remove the air filter assembly. This will give you access to the brake light socket.

4. Use a Philips head screwdriver to remove the two screws that hold the brake light socket in place. Be careful not to drop the screws.

5. Once the screws are removed, gently pry the brake light socket out of the housing. Be careful not to damage the socket or the housing.

6. Remove the old brake light bulb from the socket by turning it counterclockwise. Be careful not to drop the bulb.

7. Inspect the socket for any damage or corrosion. If there is any damage, you will need to replace the socket before installing the new bulb.

8. Install the new brake light bulb into the socket by turning it clockwise until it is snug. Be careful not to overtighten the bulb.

9. Reinsert the brake light socket into the housing and secure it with the two screws that you removed earlier.

10. Replace the air filter assembly and close the hood.

11. Turn on the headlights and brake lights to make sure that the new bulbs are working properly.

12. Lower the Jack and Jack Stands.
