1. Open the trunk lid.
- You may need to hold the trunk release lever located in the driver’s foot well
or press a button on the key fob to do so.
2. Locate the bulb cover.
- It is made of red or orange plastic and has a twist lock mechanism on the
driver's side of the trunk lid.
3. Twist the bulb cover and remove it.
- It should come off easily by hand.
4. Remove the burned-out bulb.
- It simply lifts out of the socket.
5. Insert the new brake light bulb.
- Make sure that the bulb is inserted all the way into the socket.
6. Replace the bulb cover.
- Twist the cover until it is tight.
7. Test the brake lights.
- Ask someone to press the brake pedal and verify that the new bulb lights
up.
8. Close the trunk lid.
- Make sure that the trunk lid is fully closed before driving.
9. Verify that the brake light is working.
- Check that the brake light comes on when the brake pedal is pressed.
