1. Park your V50 on level ground and turn off the engine. Engage the parking brake.
2. Open the hood of your vehicle by pulling the release lever inside the car and lifting the hood.
3. Locate the headlight assembly you need to replace. It will be located behind a plastic cover on the front of your car.
4. Remove the plastic cover by pressing on the release tabs and pulling the cover off.
5. Disconnect the electrical connector for the headlight assembly.
6. Remove the headlight assembly from the vehicle by turning the retaining ring counterclockwise and pulling the assembly out.
7. Install the new headlight assembly into the vehicle by inserting it into the housing and turning the retaining ring clockwise to secure it.
8. Connect the electrical connector for the new headlight assembly.
9. Replace the plastic cover and press on the tabs until it snaps shut.
10. Close the hood of your car.
That's it! You have successfully changed a headlight on your Volvo V50.
