1. Locate the camshaft cover on the front of the engine. It is the silver-colored cover with the words "V6 2.5" on it.
2. Remove the four bolts that hold the camshaft cover in place.
3. Remove the camshaft cover and set it aside.
4. Look inside the cylinder head and you will see the camshaft gears. The camshaft gear for the intake valves is located on the left side of the cylinder head, and the camshaft gear for the exhaust valves is located on the right side of the cylinder head.
5. The timing marks are located on the camshaft gears. The intake camshaft gear has a single dot on it, and the exhaust camshaft gear has two dots on it.
6. When the engine is properly timed, the timing marks on the camshaft gears should line up with the timing marks on the cylinder head.
If the timing marks are not aligned, the engine will not run properly. You will need to adjust the timing belt or chain in order to get the timing marks to align.
