Step 1: Loosen the clutch cable adjuster
Locate the clutch cable adjuster on the clutch lever perch assembly. It is the black plastic knob located towards the end of the lever. Turn the knob counterclockwise until the clutch lever is loose enough to move freely.
Step 2: Remove the old clutch lever
Locate the two 8mm bolts that hold the clutch lever to the perch assembly. Use the 8mm socket wrench to loosen and remove these bolts. Discard the old clutch lever assembly.
Step 3: Install the new clutch lever
Align the new clutch lever with the perch assembly and insert the two 8mm bolts. Tighten the bolts securely using the 8mm socket wrench.
Step 4: Adjust the clutch cable
Use the Phillips head screwdriver to turn the adjuster knob on the clutch lever perch assembly clockwise until the clutch lever is slightly loose. Pull the clutch lever in all the way and hold it in place. Use the 10mm socket wrench to turn the adjuster knob counterclockwise until the lever is snug against the handlebars.
Step 5: Test the clutch lever
Start the motorcycle and engage the clutch lever. The bike should not move forward. Release the clutch lever slowly and the bike should move forward smoothly. If the clutch is slipping, turn the adjuster knob clockwise to increase the tension on the cable.
