1. Start your Honda Shadow and let it warm up for a few minutes.
2. Turn the idle screw clockwise until the engine speed reaches 1,200 RPM.
3. Use a screwdriver to turn the idle screw in small increments until the engine speed is slightly lower than you want it to be.
4. Open the throttle slightly to see if the engine speed increases to your desired level. If it doesn't, repeat step 3.
5. Once the engine speed is at your desired level, turn the idle screw counterclockwise until the engine speed drops to 850 RPM.
6. Turn the idle screw clockwise until the engine speed reaches your desired level.
7. Shut off the engine and let it cool down for a few minutes.
8. Start the engine again and check the idle speed. If it is not correct, repeat steps 3-6.
Tips:
* Make sure that the engine is warm before adjusting the idle speed.
* If you are not comfortable making adjustments to the idle screw, you can take your Honda Shadow to a qualified mechanic.
* The idle speed should be set to the manufacturer's specification, which is usually between 850 and 1,200 RPM.
