Where is the oil drain plug on a 2005 Harley lowrider?

Lowrider® S Models

1. With the transmission in NEUTRAL, start the engine and let it run for about five minutes at 1500 rpm to warm the oil.

2. Turn the engine off and place a catch pan under the motorcycle.

3. Position the catch pan so it is directly under the oil drain plug on the bottom of the crankcase, ahead of the swingarm pivot shaft; the area will be covered in oil.

>NOTE: If the motorcycle is equipped with a skid plate, you will need to remove it to see the oil drain plug.

4. Remove the oil drain plug with a 7/16-inch hex key; this will allow the oil to drain from the crankcase into the catch pan.

Dyna® Models

1. Make sure the engine has been running until the oil has had time to warm to operating temperature.

2. Place an oil drain pan beneath the engine (the drain plug is located low on the front of the engine).

3. With a 5/8-inch hex wrench, remove the oil drain plug and let the oil drain completely.
