* Feeler gauge
* 10mm spanner
* Screwdriver
Instructions:
1. Ensure that the engine is cold.
2. Locate the valve cover on the left side of the engine. It is held in place by four 10mm bolts.
3. Remove the valve cover bolts and remove the valve cover.
4. Locate the rocker arms. There are two rocker arms, one for the exhaust valve and one for the intake valve.
5. Check the valve clearance between the rocker arm and the valve stem. The clearance should be 0.08-0.10mm (0.003-0.004 in) for both valves.
6. If the clearance is too tight or too loose, you will need to adjust it.
7. To adjust the clearance, turn the engine over clockwise until both valves are fully closed.
8. With the valves fully closed, you may need to use a screwdriver to hold the rocker arm upwards for the exhaust valve or downwards for the intake valve
9. Now turn the adjusting screw on the rocker arm with a 10mm spanner. Adjust the screw clockwise to tighten the clearance and counterclockwise to loosen the clearance.
10. While holding the screwdriver in place, recheck the clearance.
11. Repeat steps 7-10 for the other valve.
12. Tighten the valve cover bolts and reinstall the valve cover.
13. Start the engine and check for proper operation.
