- Intake: 0.005-0.007 inches (0.13-0.18 mm)
- Exhaust: 0.010-0.012 inches (0.25-0.30 mm)
To adjust the valve lash, you will need the following tools:
- Feeler gauge
- Flathead screwdriver
- Wrench
Once you have gathered the necessary tools, follow these steps:
1. Remove the spark plug wire from the spark plug.
2. Remove the valve cover.
3. Locate the intake and exhaust valves.
4. Insert the feeler gauge between the valve stem and the rocker arm.
5. If the feeler gauge is too tight or too loose, use the flathead screwdriver to adjust the valve clearance.
6. Tighten the locknut with the wrench.
7. Repeat steps 4-6 for the exhaust valve.
8. Replace the valve cover.
9. Reattach the spark plug wire to the spark plug.
