1. Locate the exterior handle: It's on the outside of the rear door, usually near the trailing edge.
2. Pull the handle: Pull the handle firmly to release the latch.
3. Open the door: Push the door outward to open it.
If the door won't open, there could be several reasons:
* Child safety lock: Check for a child safety lock mechanism on the door itself or on the inside of the front door. This often involves a small button or lever that needs to be disengaged.
* Door latch malfunction: The latch mechanism itself might be broken or jammed. This requires repair or replacement.
