2. Remove the steering column cover. There are usually two or three screws that hold the cover in place.
3. Locate the ignition switch. It is located on the back of the steering column, near the top.
4. Remove the ignition switch retaining screws. There are usually two screws that hold the switch in place.
5. Pull the ignition switch out of the steering column. Be careful not to drop the lock cylinder.
6. Remove the key tumbler from the ignition switch. The key tumbler is held in place by a snap ring. Use a small flat-head screwdriver to pry the snap ring off.
7. Install the new key tumbler. Place the new key tumbler in the ignition switch and secure it with the snap ring.
8. Reinstall the ignition switch. Slide the ignition switch back into the steering column and secure it with the retaining screws.
9. Reinstall the steering column cover. Replace the screws that hold the cover in place.
10. Reconnect the battery. Turn on the ignition and check that the key works properly.
