1. Make sure the engine is at operating temperature.
2. Turn off all accessories (air conditioner, radio, etc.).
3. Connect a tachometer to the engine.
4. Start the engine and let it idle.
5. Check the idle speed. It should be between 600 and 700 RPM.
6. If the idle speed is too low, turn the idle speed adjustment screw clockwise.
7. If the idle speed is too high, turn the idle speed adjustment screw counterclockwise.
8. Repeat steps 6 and 7 until the idle speed is correct.
9. Disconnect the tachometer.
