1. Park the truck on a level surface and engage the parking brake.

2. Chock the wheels to prevent the truck from rolling.

3. Locate the rear driveshaft. It is the metal shaft that connects the transmission to the rear axle.

4. Disconnect the parking brake cable from the driveshaft.

5. Remove the four bolts that secure the driveshaft to the rear axle.

6. Slide the driveshaft out of the axle housing.

7. Remove the two bolts that secure the driveshaft to the transmission.

8. Slide the driveshaft out of the transmission.
