1. Prepare your materials and tools. You will need:
* A new headlight assembly (check your owner's manual for the correct part number)
* A Phillips-head screwdriver
* A flat-head screwdriver
* A socket wrench with a 10mm socket
2. Locate the headlight assembly. The headlight assembly is located behind the front bumper of your Toyota 4Runner. To access it, you will need to remove the front bumper cover.
3. Remove the front bumper cover. To remove the front bumper cover, follow these steps:
1. Open the hood of your Toyota 4Runner.
2. Locate the four screws that secure the bumper cover to the chassis. These screws are located at the top of the bumper cover, near the headlights.
3. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove these four screws.
4. Gently pry the bumper cover away from the chassis, starting at the top and working your way down. There may be some clips that you need to release as you go.
5. Once the bumper cover is free, set it aside.
4. Remove the old headlight assembly. To remove the old headlight assembly, follow these steps:
1. Locate the three screws that secure the headlight assembly to the chassis. These screws are located around the perimeter of the headlight assembly.
2. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove these three screws.
3. Gently pull the headlight assembly away from the chassis. There may be some clips that you need to release as you go.
4. Once the headlight assembly is free, remove the electrical connector from the back of the assembly.
5. Install the new headlight assembly. To install the new headlight assembly, follow the reverse of the steps you took to remove the old headlight assembly.
6. Test the new headlight assembly. Once the new headlight assembly is installed, turn on your headlights and make sure they are working properly.
7. Reinstall the front bumper cover. To reinstall the front bumper cover, follow the reverse of the steps you took to remove the front bumper cover.
