How do you replace a tensioner pulley on 2000 Oldsmobile intrigue?

Tools and Materials Needed:

-10mm socket wrench

-15mm socket wrench

-Ratchet

-Flat-head screwdriver

-Replacement tensioner pulley

-New belt (if necessary)

Instructions:

1. Locate the tensioner pulley. The tensioner pulley is located on the front of the engine, just below the water pump. It is a small, round pulley with a spring-loaded arm.

2. Loosen the tensioner pulley bolt. Use the 15mm socket wrench to loosen the bolt that holds the tensioner pulley in place. Do not remove the bolt completely.

3. Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry the tensioner pulley arm. This will release the tension on the belt and allow you to remove it.

4. Remove the old belt. Once the tensioner pulley arm is pried up, you can remove the old belt by slipping it off of the pulleys.

5. Install the new belt. If you are replacing the belt, now is the time to install the new one. Route the belt around the pulleys in the correct order, according to the diagram in your owner's manual.

6. Reinstall the tensioner pulley. Once the belt is installed, you can reinstall the tensioner pulley. Place the pulley back into the bracket and hand-tighten the bolt.

7. Tighten the tensioner pulley bolt. Use the 15mm socket wrench to tighten the tensioner pulley bolt. Do not overtighten the bolt, as this could damage the pulley or the engine.

8. Test the tensioner pulley. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check to make sure that the belt is properly tensioned and that the tensioner pulley is not making any noise.
