The fuel pump on a 1989 Acura Legend is located inside the fuel tank. To access the fuel pump, you will need to remove the rear seat and then remove the access cover on the top of the fuel tank. The fuel pump is attached to the bottom of the cover by a series of bolts and nuts. Be careful not to drop anything into the fuel tank when removing the fuel pump. Once the fuel pump is removed, you can replace it with a new one. Be sure to reconnect all of the electrical connectors and fuel lines before reinstalling the fuel tank cover and then the rear seat.
