Tools Needed:
- Lug wrench
- Jack and jack stands
- Socket set
- Flathead screwdriver
- Hammer
Instructions:
1. Loosen the lug nuts on the front wheels, but don't remove them completely.
2. Raise the vehicle using a jack and jack stands. Make sure the vehicle is securely supported before continuing.
3. Remove the lug nuts and take off the wheels.
4. Remove the brake caliper by removing the two bolts that hold it in place. Hang the caliper out of the way using a piece of wire or string.
5. Remove the rotor by removing the two bolts that hold it in place.
6. Using a flathead screwdriver, pry off the dust cap on the wheel bearing hub.
7. Use a socket wrench to remove the hub nut. The nut is located in the center of the wheel bearing hub.
8. Pull the wheel bearing hub out of the spindle using a pry bar.
9. Inspect the wheel bearing for any damage or wear. If the bearing is damaged or worn, replace it with a new one.
10. Insert the new wheel bearing into the spindle and reinstall the hub nut. Tighten the nut until it is snug, but not too tight.
11. Reinstall the dust cap on the wheel bearing hub.
12. Reinstall the rotor and the brake caliper.
13. Reinstall the wheels and lug nuts. Tighten the lug nuts until they are snug.
14. Lower the vehicle from the jack stands.
Test drive the vehicle to ensure the wheel bearing is working properly.
