1. Slim Jim Method:
- Obtain a slim jim tool, which is a thin, flexible metal rod with a hook at one end.
- Insert the slim jim into the door frame, near the top corner where the door meets the window.
- Slide the slim jim down until you feel it touch the lock mechanism.
- Use the hook on the end of the slim jim to press the lock button or lift the locking rod, unlocking the door.
2. Shoelace Loop:
- Find a lace from a shoe or a strong piece of string about 2 feet long.
- Create a loop at one end of the lace and tighten the knot.
- Insert the looped end through the top corner of the slightly open driver’s window, between the weather stripping and the glass.
- Use a stick or other long, thin object to push the loop toward the lock button or locking mechanism.
- Once you've hooked onto the lock button, pull the lace, and the door should unlock.
3. Wedge and Inflatable Wedge Method:
- For the wedge method, use a simple doorstop wedge or a purpose-made inflatable wedge.
- Insert the wedge between the weatherstripping and the door frame at the top corner of the driver’s door, near the window.
- Continue driving the wedge in until there’s enough of a gap to insert a rod or reach inside.
- Use a clothes hanger or any other long, thin object to pull the lock pin up and unlock the door.
4. Reach Through with a Coat Hanger:
- Straighten a coat hanger or use a similarly thin, long object, such as a wire hanger.
- Create a small hook at the end of the hanger.
- Insert the hanger through the top corner of the driver’s side window opening.
- Try to reach the door lock button with the hook and manipulate it to unlock the door.
