* Screwdriver

* Pliers

* Jack and jack stands

Instructions:

2. Remove the serpentine belt.

3. Remove the alternator bracket.

4. Remove the alternator from the engine.

5. Install the new alternator.

6. Install the alternator bracket.

7. Install the serpentine belt.

8. Reconnect the battery.

9. Start the engine and check the charging system.

Detailed Instructions:

1. Disconnect the battery. This will prevent any electrical shock while you are working on the alternator. To do this, use a wrench to loosen the negative battery cable (the black one) and remove it from the battery terminal.

2. Remove the serpentine belt. The serpentine belt is a long, thin belt that drives the alternator, power steering pump, and air conditioning compressor. To remove it, use a wrench to loosen the tensioner pulley and slip the belt off of the pulleys.

3. Remove the alternator bracket. The alternator bracket is a metal bracket that holds the alternator in place. To remove it, use a wrench to loosen the bolts that hold it to the engine block and remove the bracket.

4. Remove the alternator from the engine. The alternator is a heavy, metal housing that is located on the front of the engine. To remove it, use a wrench to loosen the bolts that hold it to the engine block and remove the alternator.

5. Install the new alternator. To install the new alternator, simply reverse the steps that you took to remove the old alternator. Be sure to tighten the bolts that hold the alternator in place securely.

6. Install the alternator bracket. Install the alternator bracket by reversing the steps that you took to remove it. Be sure to tighten the bolts that hold the bracket in place securely.

7. Install the serpentine belt. Install the serpentine belt by reversing the steps that you took to remove it. Be sure to tension the belt properly according to the specifications in your vehicle's owner's manual.

8. Reconnect the battery. Reconnect the battery by reversing the steps that you took to disconnect it.

9. Start the engine and check the charging system. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Then, use a voltmeter to check the voltage at the battery terminals. The voltage should be between 13.5 and 14.5 volts. If it is not, the alternator may not be charging properly and you may need to have it repaired or replaced.
