How to Replace a Window Motor on a 2000 Buick Park Avenue

Tools and Materials:

* Phillips head screwdriver

* Flat head screwdriver

* 10mm socket wrench

* 13mm socket wrench

* Window motor replacement kit (with motor, regulator, and track)

* Electrical tape

* Zip ties

* Safety goggles

* Gloves

Instructions:

1. Park your car in a safe location. Put the car in park and turn off the engine. Engage the parking brake.

2. Open the front door on the side where you will be replacing the window motor.

3. Locate the window motor assembly. It is located inside the door panel, behind the inner door handle.

4. Remove the door panel. Use the Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws that hold the door panel in place. You may need to use the flat head screwdriver to pry the panel off.

5. Remove the electrical connectors from the window motor. Use the flat head screwdriver to release the tabs on the connectors and pull them off.

6. Remove the 10mm bolts holding the window motor in place. Use the 10mm socket wrench to loosen and remove the bolts.

7. Remove the 13mm bolts holding the window regulator in place. Use the 13mm socket wrench to loosen and remove the bolts.

8. Remove the window motor and regulator from the door. Carefully lift the window motor and regulator out of the door.

9. Install the new window motor and regulator. Place the new window motor and regulator into position. Insert the bolts and tighten them with the 10mm and 13mm socket wrenches.

10. Reconnect the electrical connectors. Press down on them until they snap into place.

11. Test the window motor. Roll the window up and down several times to make sure it is working properly.

12. Replace the door panel. Reverse the steps you took to remove the door panel.

Tips:

* Be careful not to drop the window motor or regulator.

* Make sure that the electrical connectors are properly connected before testing the window motor.
