Replace front brakes 2004 Hyundai elantra?

Tools Needed:

- Jack and jack stands

- Lug wrench

- Socket set

- Torque wrench

- C-clamp

- Brake fluid

- Funnel

- Brake cleaner

- Safety glasses

- Gloves

Instructions:

1. Park your car in a safe location and turn off the engine. Engage the parking brake.

2. Jack up your car and support it on jack stands. Make sure the car is stable before you begin working.

3. Remove the lug nuts and take off the front tires.

4. Remove the brake calipers by unbolting the two mounting bolts. Be careful not to spill any brake fluid.

5. Remove the old brake pads from the calipers.

6. Clean the calipers and rotors with brake cleaner.

7. Install the new brake pads in the calipers. Make sure the pads are seated properly.

8. Replace the calipers and tighten the mounting bolts.

9. Install the front tires and lug nuts.

10. Lower the car and remove the jack stands.

11. Check the brake fluid level and add more if necessary.

12. Test the brakes by applying them gently before driving.

Tips:

* Be careful not to get brake fluid on your skin or eyes. If you do, rinse it off immediately with water.

* Brake fluid is flammable, so keep it away from open flames and sparks.

* If you are uncomfortable working on your own brakes, you can have them replaced by a qualified mechanic.
