First, locate the shift lock release button. On most Honda Accords, it's a small button located near the gearshift lever.
Press and hold the shift lock release button while attempting to shift the gear lever to neutral.
If you are unable to move the gear lever to neutral, you may need to lubricate the shift linkage. Use a spray lubricant and spray it onto the linkage. If the gearstick is still in park after lubricating the linkage and pressing the shift lock release button, the shift interlock solenoid may be faulty and need to be replaced. You will need to take your vehicle to a mechanic to have this repaired.
