Instructions
1. Park the car on a level surface and turn off the engine.
2. Allow the engine to cool down completely.
3. Open the hood of the car.
4. Locate the water pump. It is usually located on the front of the engine, near the top.
5. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
6. Drain the coolant from the radiator.
7. Remove the serpentine belt.
8. Remove the bolts that hold the water pump in place.
9. Remove the old water pump gasket and clean the surface of the engine block.
10. Install the new water pump gasket and the new water pump.
11. Tighten the bolts that hold the water pump in place.
12. Refill the radiator with coolant.
13. Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
14. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check for leaks.
Tips
- Make sure that you have all of the tools and materials that you need before you start the project.
- Take your time and be careful. Do not rush through the project.
- If you are not comfortable working on cars, you can take the car to a qualified mechanic to have the water pump replaced.
