1. Make sure that your engine has cooled down completely.
2. Open the hood of your car and locate the battery terminals.
3. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery by loosening the nut or bolt that holds it in place and then removing the cable.
4. Wait for about 30 seconds and then reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
5. Turn on the ignition of your car but do not start the engine.
6. Wait for the check engine light to come on and then turn off again.
7. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
8. The check engine light should now be reset.
If the check engine light does not reset, you may need to take your car to a qualified mechanic to have the issue diagnosed and repaired.
