1. Park your vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine. Allow the vehicle to cool down if it has been recently driven.
2. Open the hood of your vehicle.
3. Locate the brake fluid reservoir. It is usually a translucent plastic container with a black cap located near the firewall on the driver's side of the engine bay.
4. Check the fluid level in the reservoir. The fluid should be between the "MIN" and "MAX" marks on the side of the reservoir.
5. If the fluid level is low, you will need to add brake fluid. Use only DOT 3 or DOT 4 brake fluid as specified in your vehicle's owner's manual.
6. Replace the cap on the brake fluid reservoir and close the hood of your vehicle.
Note: If the brake fluid is dark or cloudy, it may be time to flush the brake system. Consult your vehicle's owner's manual or a qualified mechanic for more information.
