Can a rebuilt title be cleared and will there any problems retitling car if I buy one in Indiana?

In Indiana, a rebuilt title cannot be cleared. However, you may be able to get a salvage title converted to a rebuilt title. To do this, you must:

- Have the vehicle inspected by the Indiana State Police.

- Pay a $50 inspection fee.

- Provide proof of ownership of the vehicle.

- Provide a notarized statement that the vehicle has been rebuilt according to state standards.

If the vehicle passes the inspection and meets all of the other requirements, the Indiana BMV will issue you a rebuilt title.

Please note that vehicles with rebuilt titles may be more difficult to sell or insure. You should discuss the potential risks and rewards of purchasing a vehicle with a rebuilt title with your insurance agent and a qualified mechanic before making a decision.
