1. Open the side covers.
* Pull up on the front edge of the side covers to release the tabs that hold them in place.
* Gently pry the side covers off the motorcycle.
2. Remove the seat bolts.
* Locate the two bolts that hold the seat in place. They are located at the front of the seat, just below the fuel tank.
* Use a wrench to loosen and remove the bolts.
3. Lift off the seat.
* Once the bolts are removed, you can lift the seat off the motorcycle.
* Be careful not to drop the seat.
To reinstall the seat, simply follow the steps in reverse order.

* Make sure that the motorcycle is parked on a level surface.
* If you have a hard time removing the side covers, you can use a pry bar or a flat-head screwdriver to help you.
* Be careful not to damage the side covers when you are removing them.
