Troubleshooting Tips
1. Check the fuel system by testing fuel pressure. If fuel pressure is too low, the fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, or fuel filter may be faulty.
2. Check the ignition system by checking for spark at the spark plugs. If there is no spark, the ignition switch, distributor cap and rotor, spark plugs and wires, or ignition coil may be faulty.
3. Check the engine mechanical system by checking oil pressure and listening for any unusual noises. If oil pressure is low, the oil pump or engine bearings may be faulty. If there are any unusual noises, the timing belt or chain may be misaligned or broken, or the engine may be seized.
4. Check the electrical system by checking the battery voltage, alternator output, and starter solenoid. If battery voltage is too low, the battery or battery connections may be faulty. If alternator output is too low, the alternator may be faulty. If the starter solenoid is not working, the ignition switch, wiring, or starter solenoid may be faulty.
5. Check the computer system by scanning the vehicle for any trouble codes. If there are any trouble codes, the ECU, BCM, FICM, or ICM may be faulty.
