1. Disconnect the Negative Battery Terminal:
- Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface, and the engine is off.
- Open the hood and disconnect the negative terminal (marked "-") of the battery using a suitable wrench.
- This will power off the car's electrical system, preventing unintended activation.
2. Locate the Headlight Dimmer Switch:
- Access the steering column in your 1991 Honda Civic.
- Below the steering column, locate the headlight dimmer switch.
- It is usually found on the left side of the steering wheel, near the turn signal lever.
3. Remove the Steering Column Cover:
- Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to loosen and remove the screws that secure the plastic cover around the steering column.
- Lift off the cover to gain access to the headlight dimmer switch.
4. Unplug the Switch Connector:

13. Dispose of the Old Switch:
