Park the car in a safe location and engage the parking brake. Gather the necessary tools, including a flathead screwdriver, Phillips head screwdriver, socket set, and pliers. Remove the inner door panel by detaching the screws and clips that hold it in place. Locate the door lock mechanism within the door frame.
Use the flathead screwdriver to pop out the lock cylinder. Insert the new lock cylinder, making sure that the keyhole and lock rod are properly aligned.
Use the Phillips head screwdriver to secure the cylinder in place with the original spring clip on the back of the housing.
Put back the inner door panel on the door frame. Verify that the new lock cylinder works correctly by inserting the key and testing the locking and unlocking mechanism.
