How do you reset the computer on a BMW 740i?

BMW 740i - How To Reset The Computer/ECU

STEP 1: Open hood and locate the battery

- Find the battery (it's usually located in the trunk)

- Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery

- Attach (not screw all the way in) the negative terminal nut back onto the battery terminal

STEP 2: Wait 60 seconds

STEP 3: Reconnect the negative terminal

- Disconnect the negative terminal

- Re-attach the negative terminal

- Make sure it is tight

STEP 4: Start your BMW 740i and let it idle for at least 5 minutes

Your BMW 740i’s computer/ECU has now been successfully reset!
