Step 1: Remove the axle nut.
- Using a 1-inch socket, remove the axle nut.
Step 2: Jack up the motorcycle.
- Place the jack under the frame of the motorcycle and jack it up until the rear wheel is off the ground.
Step 3: Remove the brake caliper.
- Remove the two bolts holding the brake caliper to the swingarm.
- Remove the caliper and hang it from the frame with a piece of wire or zip tie to prevent it from dangling and damaging the brake line.
Step 4: Remove the wheel.
- Use the tire irons to pry the tire off the rim.
- Remove the wheel from the motorcycle.
Step 5: Install the new tire.
- Place the new tire on the rim.
- Use the tire irons to pry the tire bead over the rim.
Step 6: Install the wheel.
- Place the wheel back on the motorcycle.
- Replace the axle nut and tighten until snug.
Step 7: Lower the motorcycle.
- Slowly lower the motorcycle until it is back on the ground.
- Remove the jack and jack stands.
Step 8: Reattach the brake caliper.
- Attach the brake caliper to the swingarm and replace the bolts.
Step 9: Test the brake.
- Squeeze the brake lever to ensure that the brakes are working properly.
