- An oil dipstick**
1. Locate the oil dipstick. The oil dipstick is usually located on the right side of the engine. It is a small metal rod with a loop at the end.
2. Remove the oil dipstick. To remove the oil dipstick, simply pull it out of the engine. Be careful not to drop it.
3. Wipe the oil dipstick clean. Use a clean rag to wipe the oil dipstick clean.
4. Insert the oil dipstick back into the engine. Insert the oil dipstick back into the engine until it is fully seated.
5. Remove the oil dipstick again. After a few seconds, remove the oil dipstick again.
6. Check the oil level. The oil level should be between the "Full" and "Add" marks on the oil dipstick.
7. Add oil if necessary. If the oil level is low, add enough oil to bring it up to the "Full" mark.
8. Reinsert the oil dipstick. Reinsert the oil dipstick into the engine until it is fully seated.
Tips:
- Always check the oil level on your motorcycle before you start it.
- If the oil level is too low, it can damage your engine.
- If the oil level is too high, it can cause your engine to overheat.
