* A 1/2-inch wrench
* A 3/8-inch wrench
* A flat-head screwdriver
* A Phillips-head screwdriver
* A hammer
* A punch
* An oil drain pan
* A new oil tank gasket
1. Start by draining the oil from the tank. To do this, place the oil drain pan under the drain plug on the bottom of the tank and remove the plug. Allow all of the oil to drain out.
2. Once the oil has drained out, locate the two 1/2-inch bolts that hold the oil tank to the frame. These bolts are located on the front and back of the tank.
3. Use the 1/2-inch wrench to loosen these bolts.
4. Once the bolts are loose, use the flat-head screwdriver to pry the oil tank away from the frame. Be careful not to damage the gasket between the tank and the frame.
5. Now, locate the two 3/8-inch bolts that hold the oil line to the oil tank. These bolts are located on the top of the tank.
6. Use the 3/8-inch wrench to loosen these bolts.
7. Once the bolts are loose, use the pliers to remove the oil line from the oil tank.
8. Finally, you can remove the oil tank from the motorcycle.
To install the new oil tank, simply reverse the steps above. Be sure to use a new oil tank gasket when installing the new tank.
