Tools and Parts:
- Piston ring compressor
- Piston ring expander
- Piston ring groove cleaning tool
- New piston rings (size according to your engine)

Procedure:
1. Engine Preparation:
- Allow your motorcycle's engine to cool down completely before starting the process.
2. Remove Exhaust System:
- Remove the exhaust system to access the cylinder head more easily.
3. Drain Coolant:
- Drain the engine coolant according to your motorcycle's service manual.
4. Cylinder Head Removal:
- Remove the cylinder head cover.
- Use a socket wrench to remove the cylinder head bolts and carefully lift the cylinder head.
5. Remove the Piston:
- Use a piston ring compressor to compress the piston rings.
- Use circlip pliers to remove the circlips that hold the piston pin in place.
- Slide out the piston pin.
- Gently pull the piston and connecting rod assembly out of the cylinder.
6. Clean Piston Grooves:
- Use a piston ring groove cleaning tool to thoroughly clean the piston ring grooves in the piston.
- Ensure they are free of any carbon buildup.
7. Install New Rings:
- Place the new piston rings in the piston ring expander.
- One by one, insert the piston rings into the piston ring grooves, ensuring they are properly seated.
- Use the piston ring expander to compress the rings temporarily.
8. Insert the Piston:
- Carefully insert the piston and connecting rod assembly back into the cylinder.
- Align the piston pin hole with the connecting rod.
- Install the piston pin and secure it with new circlips.
9. Reinstall Cylinder Head:
- Place a new base gasket onto the cylinder block.
- Carefully lower the cylinder head back onto the cylinder block, ensuring proper alignment.
- Install and tighten the cylinder head bolts as per the specified torque settings.
10. Remount Exhaust System:
- Reinstall the exhaust system that was removed earlier.
11. Refill Coolant:
- Refill the engine coolant as per the manufacturer's guidelines.
12. Start Engine and Test:
- Once everything is reassembled, start the motorcycle's engine and let it run for a short while.
- Listen for any unusual sounds or leaks.
