How do you rewire ignition keys on a pocket bike?

Tools Needed:

- Wire strippers

- Soldering iron

- Solder

- Heat-shrink tubing

Instructions:

1. Identify the ignition wires. There will typically be two wires coming from the ignition switch: one that is hot and one that is ground. The hot wire is usually red or black, while the ground wire is typically black or white.

2. Disconnect the ignition wires. Use the wire strippers to cut the wires about 6 inches from the ignition switch.

3. Strip the ends of the wires. Use the wire strippers to remove about 1/2 inch of insulation from the ends of the wires.

4. Solder the wires to the new ignition switch. Connect the hot wire to the "H" terminal on the new ignition switch and the ground wire to the "G" terminal.

5. Cover the solder joints with heat-shrink tubing. Use a heat gun or a lighter to shrink the tubing around the solder joints.

6. Reconnect the ignition wires to the battery. Connect the hot wire to the positive terminal on the battery and the ground wire to the negative terminal.

7. Test the ignition switch. Turn the key to the "On" position and make sure that the engine starts.

Note: If you are replacing the ignition switch on a pocket bike that has a kill switch, you will also need to connect the kill switch wire to the "K" terminal on the new ignition switch.
